ABOUT ME

DavidYurch_0036.jpg

David Yurch (rhymes with 'church') is a New York City-based actor. Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Acting from Muhlenberg College. After graduating, he moved to the city, where he has studied at the Larry Singer Summer Conservatory.

David is drawn to characters who are existential loners, outcasts, and misfits who are mentally and emotionally anguished, and are suffering from a mental breakdown or existential crisis. Philip Seymour Hoffman in Happiness, Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands, Edward Norton in Fight Club, and Paul Dano in Prisoners are good points of reference.

It is David's belief that an actor can function as the link between seemingly disparate characters. This is what he strives to achieve, as a means of both finding the things that bind us together and celebrating the things that make us different.
